| Book facts....
Title: The Magic Boat Dimensions: 18.5cms x 21cms Size: 12 pages Published: 1981 Created by: Tom Seidmann-Freud |
| The back cover says ....................
"Tom" Seidmann-Freud was actually a very extraordinary woman! Martha Seidmann-Freud was the artist niece of Sigmund Freud and like her famous uncle, held her own, very decided views. Over half a century ago, she designed a moveable book that would "delight and surprise", full of games, stories and ingenious ways for the reader to take part. Reproduced now as The Magic Boat, it still has "Tom" on the cover as she wished ..... because she liked the idea of using a man's name. And I say ..................... Wow! How clever ................... I wish I'd thought of it ........... *S* |

| The Wonderful House ........
Pull down the tag to follow the lives of the family as we look at morning, lunch, afternoon, evening and night. Look at all the windows and see the cat and the baby, grandpa smoking, a bird in a cage, me blowing bubbles and someone peaking through the curtain, plus lots more surprises. |

"Once upon a time there was a lazy boy
who sailed the ocean in a hammock. He had
no fears about winds or bad weather, but if the storm grew too wild he
would send letters to friends in Australia
by carrier seagull, or accompany himself on a little ivory guitar. He ate
tasty meals of chips and ran without stopping
to his home in Bedfordshire."
With a tug on the tag it changes to ................ "Once upon a time there was a monkey who sailed the ocean in a coconut. He had no fears about winds or bad weather, but if the storm grew too wild he would send letters to a zoo in Australia by carrier seagull, or accompany himself on a little ivory guitar. He ate tasty meals of ice cream and ran without stopping to his home in Hawaii." Isn't that fun? ..... *S* |

There's a script for a play with 9 scenes to follow with the Punch and Judy show. Each time we pull the tag (up for Judy, down for Punch) the pictures change and we move to the next scene. |
