In the above picture we see the many ways of laying this interesting book out.

The back cover says .....

The City Park is a reproduction of an antique book designed by Lothar Meggendorfer (1847-1925) and published around 1890. This unique book recreates the colorful atmosphere and panoramic views of a typical European city park in the late 19th century, and it adds to the broad range of superb movable books that is the genius of Lothar Meggendorfer.

The pages are made of thick cardboard and joined so if they were laid out flat in a row they would measure an enormous 720cms long! The page consists of the cut-out picture (the printed part) and the void (the white part). I've shown you both sides of the same page with it's perfect details.

All the pages can be placed on top of the other in a concertina effect. When we do this all the pages are visible and we can look through the whole book.

In the above picture we're looking at all the pages on top of each other. Note the top layer is the gentleman and the girl riding in the carriage. Two dogs run along beside the carriage wheels.

Now we're looking at all the pages on top of each other from the other side. Notice the gentleman and the girl in the carriage is now the bottom layer and we're seeing them from the back. They have now become the back layer. In the foreground are the beggar and the man I showed you earlier.
