Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving celebrations
A time of good cheer
When all the family gathers
Giving thanks to the pioneer's
Who shared their precious food
On that auspicious morn'
With the indians of yesteryear
Thanksgiving was born.

Thanksgiving dinner
The time of year mum loves most
To have her family all together
And so pleased to be host
Her heart swells with love
Listening to happiness all around
Catching up on old news
Chatter and laughter abounds.

Thanksgiving feast
Mum supervises the kitchen clatter
Sending the men folk outside
The women prepare the turkey platter
At the end of a scrumptious meal
No, no, I couldn't eat another bite!
Groans of contentment can be heard
And mum beams with pure delight.
