It's with me now .....
I see it from the corner of my eye
I pretend I don't see it
Then I cry ......

Why do you haunt me like this?
Come on .... show yourself!
Are you a monster?
Or are you my guardian angel?
Hiding ... always in a shadow
If I close my eyes I hear you
I feel the air move around me
Do you surround me?
I want to know why!

I hear a rustling sound
I quickly turn around
But all I see is the wings of a shadow
As it fades from my sight
And I know I am alone 
For a short time tonight

I dare not sleep just now
I must know what haunts me
Is it a dangerous foe?
Or someone sent to watch over me?
It's this I've got to know!

I sit silently on my bed
Thoughts of ghouls and ghosts 
Running rampant through my head
From the corner of my eye I see
A translucent shadow moving closer to me
I wait ..... what more can I do?
It seems an eternity
Until the wings of a shadow
Slowly engulfs me ......

And at last ...... I finally know.
