Pink madder lake skies
A backdrop for Spring's hues
Streaks of spectrum orange
Splashed upon imperial blue

A green haze covers the ground
Tiny buds break the earth
Sleeping bulbs and seedlings yawn
Passengers in Mother Nature's berth

Delft blue velvet petals
Mix with primrose yellow butter bells
Celebrations and sunbeams
Over May green garden ground swells

Rich scented earth rife with new life
Sepia, umber, ochre and brown
Flower heads explode with scent
Shades of spring colours abound
