I tried to step over a puddle, 
And slipped around in the mud, 
I only made it halfway across, 
Then fell with a mighty ker-thud! 

I tried to run through a puddle, 
And slid around in the slime, 
My efforts didn't go unrewarded 'cos, 
I found my long lost dime! 

I tried to crawl through a puddle, 
Down on both my knees, 
My clothes got wet and that night at home, 
I exploded with a very loud sneeze! 

I tried to jump over a puddle, 
I sailed right through the air, 
I made it to the other side, 
Now it's your turn if you dare!
