Oh wow! 
I've just got to tell you about the thunderstorm we just had, 
It was awesome! 

It started in the distance behind the hills, 
I sat on my balcony, 
A front row seat in nature's auditorium, 
Watching, waiting in anticipation, 
I held my breath. 

Imagine this ........ three storm fronts heading in my direction! 

Lights flashing as if in strobe awash across the horizon, 
Barely hearing the rolls of thunder, 
Still far off in the distance,
I strained my ears, 
Longing to hear the sounds of the storm's rumbles, 
The air around me was still calm, 
Yet I could feel it's vibration, 
(or was that coming from me?) 
I was so excited! 

Like a slow motion movie the clouds rolled closer .............. 

A slight breeze started,
The first indication of things to come, 
Bright flashes still diffused behind dark clouds,
A non-stop symphony of light, 
Coming closer ....... getting louder ....... 
Visible lightning strikes were emerging from above,
They struck! 
A loud explosion sounded so close I jumped then laughed. 

Deafening thunder! 
Blinding lightning! 
On and on it went, 
Explosive sounds rolling from one side to the other in stereo, 
I thrilled at the spectacular vision of nature's wrath, 
I barely even took a breath, 
Such an amazing sight in the night, 
My poor dog cowered at my knees.

More! 
Give me more I yelled to the heaven's,
I felt invigorated, wild!

Hour after hour the storms passed over head
And I imagined it going on forever,
This being the end,
So much power, so much force , so beautiful to see, 
Yet finally those clouds receded away from me, 
The night sky again serene, silent,
Still ........... 

I bowed to the conductor of nature's orchestra.
