The Halloween Dance

Literary Angels 5 Halloween Contest
Graphic .... First Runner Up
7th Oct 2000

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Come to me all you young witches,
Meet me at the haunted old manse,
Ride quickly on broomsticks of redwood,
We must prepare for the Halloween dance.

Hear my young wizards of Zillmere,
Bring along your magic and spells,
Help gather up spiders and cobwebs,
To adorn the high rafters and bell.

Ghoulies and ghosties and lizards,
You can bring along all that you find,
Of toadstools, flies and cockroaches,
To mix in the punch of green slime.

A skeleton band will be playing,
A romp round the ballroom's a must,
Screeching and laughter we'll be hearing,
While kicking up billows of dust.

I'll be in charge of the pumpkin,
I'll empty out all of it's goo,
I'll carve out a face of a nightmare,
So scary it will freak even you!

So hurry with all the preparations,
We've only got up 'til midnight,
The town folks will then be arriving,
Let's give them one heck of a fright!
