The Dragon Firewick

I have a special secret friend,
He's a funny friendly dragon,
While other kids ride on their bikes,
I ride him like a wagon.

My dragon's name is Firewick,
He loves to eat white mice,
I asked him how could he do that?
He said they're rather nice.

One day while we were flying,
We spied a damsel in distress,
Firewick meant to fly real close,
But he belched and burnt her dress.

Oh no! why did you do that sir?
Asked that poor girl of me,
'Twas not me but the dragon miss,
Then he dropped her in a tree.

While a dragon's kind of handy,
To have around most times,
This one I fear is very clumsy,
He perched on mum's clothes line.

You naughty child what have you done?
She cursed and yelled real loud,
While I tried to say I'm sorry,
I heard him laugh behind a cloud.

Sometimes we go out camping,
He hunts and cooks for tea,
No need for me to make a fire,
He flames our meat for me.

You may know that dragons love,
All things shiney and bright,
When I'm supposed to be sleeping,
We chase the stars at night.

I promised Firewick when I grow up,
When I'm really, really old,
I will always love him truly,
And our dragon tale will be told.
