Dragon Tales

I know you won't believe me,
But I beg you listen to my tale,
Yesterday I was out walking,
When I discovered a brand new trail.

I set my hat on firmly,
And grabbed a sturdy stick,
I was only half way down that trail,
When I missed my step and slipped.

I tumbled down an incline,
Couldn't see where I was going,
I had no idea of where I was,
Or that of even knowing.

I fell ker-plop and looked around,
I had landed in a hollow,
My fall had made me thirsty sir,
I could barely even swallow!

I crawled towards a sparkling brook,
It was rife with dragon flies,
But when I crawled up really close,
I could naught believe my eyes.

I thought that I'd been watching,
Dragon flies darting here and there,
I found that I was mistaken 'cos,
Real dragons graced the air.

They were tiny dragon's with gold wings,
And scales upon their backs,
While all around in the wet slick mud,
Were tiny dragon tracks.

I held my hands out straight in front,
Sat as still as I could be,
Those dragons stopped their playing,
And flew right over to me.

Oho! I cried, 'tis a wonder,
A miracle of the best kind,
I thought no one will believe me so,
I asked them would they mind.

I need to ask a favour,
Would you come along with me?
I want to take you back this day,
For all the world to see.

I know my tale sounds shonky,
So please look inside my sack,
But hurry sir 'cos before sunset,
I promised to take him back.
