That darned hammock by the sea!

When I tried to get in 
It flipped me over 
I fell flat on my face
And skinned my knee!

So I got up ..........

Looked around to see
If anyone was watching me
Then quick as I could 
I threw one leg over
Thought if I moved fast
It'd be nice and cozy

But darnit! ..........

Just as I thought I'd won
It spun in one foul swoop
And I fell splat on my bum!

Well! ..........

I was determined you know
I leapt all in one
Had to get it right
And around it spun!

The ropes that held
It tied to the tree there
Finally came undone
And tangled in my hair

I wiggled and squirmed
The rope wrapped round my throat
Tried to get myself free
Then I started to choke!

Hmmmrpp threessdft pwtooftph! I yelled.........

Nobody understood a word I said
While taking photos of my plight
They stood around and laughed instead
With my feet in the air
And hanging upside down
I must have looked like
A circus clown............

With a mighty heave
And an audible snap
The other end rope broke
And I lay on my back

I must've looked an awful fright
Embarrassed I was and I started to laugh
I'm still laughing now
Writing of this tonight
The time I lost 
That darned hammock fight!
