Crying The Blues

The chickens ain't a-layin' now
The corn crops're gone 'cos of dew
The taxman's come round a-knockin'
An' that's why I'm cryin' the blues

My man he's walked right out on me
I don't know what I'm gonna do
I got six kids to look after
An' that's why I'm cryin' the blues

I lost my job down at Walmart
I got holes in all of my shoes
My babies all need a-clothin'
An' that's why I'm cryin' the blues

No food for our table tonight
The bank said again I withdrew
My plea to God's gone unanswered
An' that's why I'm cryin' the blues

I ain't fit to be a parent
I done drank up all of my brew
My brain it's startin' to numb now
An' that's why I'm cryin' the blues
