Candles, Crystals and Cauldrons

The beautiful sorceress
Stands in the castle tower
A vision of loveliness
As she waits for the hour
Dressed in a robe of soft purple velvet
Her long hair flows down her back
Undulating like a wave
Every time she moves
And adorned with a hair cap
Of pearl strings and jewels

When the sun finally rises
High enough in the sky
Light beams bounce over the window sill
Casting a gleam in her eye
She holds high her staff
Made of Eldarwood and gold
And turns to a leather tome
Laying open on it's stand
Around her lies her tools in trade
Candles, crystals and cauldrons
Pungent roots and sage

She holds out her right hand
Over the book ... fingers splayed
Slowly she traces the gold etched letters
And reads from the page .....

"Om niminy ... oi nimava
 Promandos el vai
 Om niminus ... pa bonimi
 Pregusa tor bai!"

A blinding flash!
The chamber fills with white light
A stiff breeze begins to blow
Her cat screeches with fright
A whirl wind let loose
Items swirl through the air
Electricity crackles
Raising the terrified cat's hair

Faster and faster
Things spin, twirl and smash
The sorceress laughs
As she whirls in a mad dance
Then at the precise moment
When all around her room
The feverish storm stops
And crystals, books and brooms
Fall clattering to the floor
The sorceress disappears
In a billow of blue smoke
The chamber becomes intensely quiet once more
And her cat dashes mewling
Through the partly open chamber door
